Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Notice explains what personal data Sympower B.V.  and its subsidiaries (“Sympower”) process about you, why we process it, and how we use it.

Sympower B.V, business nr. 65605543, with registered address at Prins Hendrikkade 183, 1011 TD Amsterdam, the Netherlands is the data controller for visitors and users of our website and subscribers to our marketing communication. In relation to a (prospective) customer, partner or supplier, the data controller is the Sympower legal entity that manages the (pre)contractual relationship, and it can be found in the agreement you will or have entered with Sympower or on your purchase order or invoice.

Sympower B.V. and its subsidiaries participate in a group-wide IT system (“System”) in order to harmonize Sympower’s IT infrastructure and its use. Regarding data processing within the framework of Sympower’s internal administration and joint procedures through the System, Sympower B.V. and its subsidiaries act as joint controllers. Sympower B.V. is responsible for the System and is at your disposal as your central contact point.

What types of personal data do we collect?

Data provided by you

When you fill in the contact form on our website, or when getting in touch with us at a trade fair, visit, or business event and you are happy to give us your contact details, or when you enter into a commercial contract with us we may collect from you the following data:

  • your name and surname
  • your e-mail address (and telephone number)
  • your job title and the name of the company you work for.

We use this data to maintain personal contact with you, let you know about our services and events that we believe may be relevant to you, and update you on Sympower’s mission and achievements.

If you are a (prospective) customer, a partner, or a supplier, the data is used to manage our (pre)contractual relationship.

Data collected when using our website – Cookies

When you visit our website, our web server may store information on your computer in the form of cookies and similar technologies (e.g. trackers, pixels). The type of information Sympower collects as a result of a cookie may include your Internet Protocol (IP) address, the date and time you access the website, and what parts of the website you have visited. If necessary, our website may also use third-party cookies, such as LinkedIn Insight Tag, to better capture website audiences. Cookies help us measure and enhance the user experience of the website.

How do we secure your data?

At Sympower, we take appropriate measures to protect your data that are consistent with applicable data protection and data security laws and regulations. Your data is safely stored in our systems and is password-protected.

Other entities of the Sympower group may have access to your data but access is restricted on a need-to-know basis and is only granted to fulfill the purposes for which the data has been collected. Your data may be processed in IT systems not hosted by Sympower. We always ensure that these systems offer an appropriate level of data protection. We do not share your data with any other third party and we do not sell your data to anyone.

How long do we keep your data?

We keep your data only for the period necessary for the purposes for which it was obtained. As a general rule, personal data provided directly by you through our contact form on our website is stored for 24 months from its collection. Data automatically collected through the use of our website is kept in our systems for 26 months.

If you are a (prospective) customer, a partner, or a supplier, we only retain your information for as long as is necessary for us to use your information to manage our (pre)contractual relationship. However, please be advised that we may retain some of your information after you cease to be a customer, a partner, or a supplier, for instance, if this is necessary to meet our legal obligations, such as retaining the information for tax and accounting purposes.

What are your rights and choices?

You are always entitled to obtain from us information about how we process your personal data, as well as a copy of the personal data in our records. You also have the right to object to the processing, correct, update, or delete your personal data, as well as data portability of your personal data to a third party, and to report any misuse of your personal data.
